Nanny State Madness: California‘s Proposed ’Fitted Sheet’ Law

I can understand the requirement for the long handled tool. But I can't fathom the rational for the fitted sheet.

If I were a legislator and I saw a bill with these words on it

...this bill would create a new crime...

I would stop right there and vote no.

I really think that in the 21st century, we have a sufficient number of crimes we can charge people with.

Because, evidently, there's not enough to worry about in the world without first addressing the critical state of hotel sheets.

It's stuff like this that justifiably gives State Government a bad name.

I'm not sure what's more ridiculous - that someone would propose this piece of "legislature" with a straight face, or the tabloid trash website that the story was posted on.
