Geez! Can't those people at UbiSoft stop relying on a forum such as this for explaining basic mistakes and omissions they make. This should be described in one of them. These controls can't be a late after-thought programming item. They have been in sub sims since the beginning of them. If something is not in the Manual like this then just fire the person responsible and get someone who CAN do it right.
