As usual a minority of ill-mannered ill-educated anti social opportunistic thugs seized their chance to destroy 2 police cars, a double decker bus, a bingo hall, an Aldi's and some smaller shops whilst making off with all the alcohol and mobile phones they could grab! kids today could do with some direction I think, if only their efforts were being put into more constructive projects.

The police can't win, one minute they're labelled as heavy handed and brutal, the next they're not doing enough. Blame multiculturalism all you want the reason it doesn't work is the patchwork quilt model, allowing groups of one ethnic or religious persuassion to occupy one area as opposed to another. Yes I am aware that for many communities this was their choice, I'm just saying it shouldn't have been allowed. This and the fact that 'faith' schools further segregate our children into polarised groups leads directly to this over dramatic confrontational attitude (a bit like the hormonal imbalance that occurs in adolescants) oh wait most of the idiots on these films are teenagers...

I think the police reacted well, if not as quick as they could, but like I said they're a bit damned if they do, damned if they don't. Significant fact that no rioters were reported injured. These events have absolutely zilch to do with events from two decades past, they are more indicative of a failing of education and government - the current one that is. Quite honestly, a bingo hall and Aldis - rebels without a cause or what?

Could you elaborate on that statement please, I don't follow the logic that 'mixing' is causing our extinction. Genetically speaking the entire world should be encouraging native Africans to spread their genes the world over since they contain 95% of the genetic variation of the entire species, which is what we're going to need when the big killer bug comes around, or when environmental and climatic changes exceed our capacity to adapt.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of the people causing this violence were born in Britain and speak English as their first language, in actual fact they are as British as you are mate. And yes they could be considered 'turds' along with all the sheltered depressed welfare dependant screw ups that our education system churns out. Nationality has nothing to do with it. I blame the recession. Too much time and not enough money to spend that time in constructive ways. People start to think. Not think of new ways to cure cancer or re-route the plumbing so you're using rainwater for toilets.

No, that paranoya thinking, you slowly start to realise, the goverment is working against you. That you're taxes are not spent on fixing potholes. Then when you're most vulnerable the media starts to fill your mind with BS. And the mess in your head starts to ferment. A torrent of thoughts starts to clear. Let's see. I come from Saxon stock, so I shouldn't have invaded Angle-Land. I have a recorded ancestor who was actually a Norman, so I guess I invaded Anglo-Jute-Saxon-Briton Land a second time. My first recorded American ancestor was actually a Brit who somehow managed to get here right in the middle of The Revolution. One of my closest friends had a grandfather who came straight from Sicily, joined the army and fought Moros in the Philippines, then turned around and became the big man in the Utah mafia (gasp!) in the 1920s. So he's an evil foreigner too, except he gets no slack from any side, because technically he's white. And even as a Sicilian he's an outsider. His family name indicates that his ancestors emigrated to Sicily from Russia.

Another good friend is black. But he's all American and hates Africans. At least he's intelligent and humble enough to admit his hatred is irrational. We became friends after we found out we're both interested in all different kinds of history. His favorite line: "You can tell me any kind of racist joke, as long as you make me laugh."

So my biggest intolerance is for people who are intolerant. Setting yourself up as different only isolates you from a lot of good people. People who just might be better than anybody you hang out with now.
