Connecting to internet - problems!!

Are you using Windows 7 or XP, shouldn't really matter as both will setup automatically but with Windows 7 there is an option Home or Public when you first setup your network/internet and choose the right one for you which would most likely be home.

My network is setup - network hub pc connected to lan1 and 2nd pc connected to lan2 both share files and can access the internet.

Last resort you could try some app like ZoneAlarm or any firewall protection app, install and let it setup your network & internet sometimes this method solves internet access. Sounds like windows is blocking the 2nd pc from the internet only allowing network access.
