2 Questions I hope can be answewed.

Hi Guys

I know it's a Sunday but, my New Career is at a stand still.

6-22-43 VIIC
I'm following the career of Kplt in Iron Coffins.... I know.

Here go's.

1. Can I fix it so I can change bases without doing 3 Patrols.
I guess I could exit and set SHC3 to 0 days in base but....

2. It's 6-22-1943 and it shows a Snorkel in early 1943.
But is it only available for 1X boat ?

Is there some CFG files to change to get in a VIIC

I hope it isn't the usual Hard Code issue.

With h.sie,s mod and, these 2 fix,s I can just about play it like a real Kaleun.

I think it is in the flotilla.cfg file in data/config or something similar. There it assigns vessel types, #s (u-45, etc), bases, patrol grid orders, etc. I am not sure about specific equipment.

For each Flotilla there are sections that belong to each time period and each section assigns the information above. For your particular flotilla, look at when the base become active and change the base or dates to the one you want. You may want to edit the patrol grids also.

To add a snorkel to a VIIb you might have to find the unit's config file, probably under /config or /submarine, I dont know.

You can look at flotilla mods that have a readme for assistance also. Hope this helps.

If you go to basic config and change all renown to zero, or at least on the equipment you want, you can get it when available.
It is also possible to change the date it is available.
The best bet to change bases is to do fake patrols via CMDR and set the time in base to 0 or 1.

@ irsh 1958 Thats what I thought for change but realised I need bases to appear like "Bourdeux" earlier "1942" so I can follow "Werners, Iron Coffins" career. And he got a "Snorkel" then, earlier.

Than given in game.

In GWX Game "Mid 43" VIIC42 is earliest. I need it in 1942 VCII.

I don't have NYGM mod on my computer; check that mod to see when the equipment, bases and subs become available. They are supposed to be historically accurate. However, the mod requires a three month in base timeline to obtain. You could probably thwart this via SH3CMDR.
Changing the GWX files to accomplish what you are trying to do would require a lot of work, probably on flotilla, configuration and campaign files.
I think the only ones who could answer your question (on the GWX team) would be BBW or Privateer. I don't have enough knowledge or computer skills to be helpful.

I solved the Flottilla problem.

Now it's the Snorkel that he scrounged for and found and installed in late "42" that's my problem.

I'm guessing it's a copy and paste way to do it.

It's finding out where it's at and where to put it

or, some kind of editing ?

I thought this website was to help fellow members with Submarine game help and discuss Sub stuff formost.

5 days and 2 responces trying to help.

But on GT s "Shoots and Giggles" thread gets 36 replies in the first hr.

While I like the GT Forums as well as the next guy I try to help fellow members on the SH boards.

How about it ? A little help please ?

It's all right there in the basic file look right at the end of
the file.
just change the date when you can use it.
