Default Tiger 1 Tiger Aces Information Centre

A list of Tiger Tank Aces of WW2:

http://www.alanhamby.com/aces.shtml

Always thought Michael Wittmann was the highest.
Although the list may be deceptive, considering that these people didn't score all their kills in Tigers. Most panzer commanders racked up good numbers in PzIII's, PzIV's, and/or StuGIII's prior to being assigned to the new Tiger Units.

it should be noted that Knispel was known to give his zug-mates kills if there was ever a dispute over a kill. his number may be even higher than that.

of course, it should also be noted that He was a gunner in a PzIV first...

My understanding was that Wittmann held the record for most kills in one action.

Not always the most reliable of sources but I believe this to be accurate

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Wittmann

Quote:
Wittmann is most famous for his ambush of elements of the British 7th Armoured Division, during the Battle of Villers-Bocage on 13 June 1944. While in command of a single Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger he destroyed up to 14 tanks and 15 personnel carriers along with 2 anti-tank guns within the space of 15 minutes.

That was one hell of an attack at Villers. Caught the Brits completely off guard.

The Canucks proved his undoing though.

I know most peoples views on the History Channel, but the Battlefield Mysteries "Who killed Michael Wittman?' was quite a good episode.

Not sure if that's the highest amount of kills in a single action, but Wittmann's Villers-Bocage engagement is certainly impressive.

I've came across that site a while ago, the statistics on Tiger I units throughout the war are quite useful.
