Indeed, if circumcision is protected by the First Amendment, then a whole slew of procedures would also be protected, like tatooing, piercing, etc. - things that would rightly be considered child abuse. Circumcision is different only because it is widespread and traditional. But that doesn't make it right.

Do you understand that?

I'm circumcised and am not Jewish I thank my parents for it. why? Hygiene. It's often done to lessen chances of infection and STD's

Except there's not very much in the way of compelling evidence it does any good.

It's not theirs. It's their child's. I have no problem with someone old enough to make an informed decision having it done. I do wonder how many adults are willing to have the procedure done, though.

In most cases, no. There have been accidents, though.

Considering the procedure is traditionally done without anesthetic, and serves no real purpose, I see no need for it. Further, an unnecessary procedure adds opportunities for accidents, infections, infliction of pain that provides no benefit.

So I would say that it does do more harm than good.

Well my folks(I nor my parents are Jewish) had me chopped as well when I was a wee lad and I never felt one way or the other about it to be truly honest but have never felt that I was missing anything not having that little bit of skin.Though I have had girl friends in the past tell me they preferred one or the other(not my place to formulate opinion on that)

I always thought that there was no medical gain or loss from it but after reading this I am glad I was clipped because I'd do anything to avoid that cancer and if this is true I'd not want any son if I ever have any to have penile cancer either: http://www.medicinenet.com/circumcis...ge5.htm#cancer

The link is on the fifth page of the site you can read more of it if you want to.

Also razark is wrong about not using anesthetic it is used in most cases might not have been that way in the past.

According to Wiki they use the fore skins to make skin grafts awesome.
