Just recently grabed X-COM: Enemy Unknown off steam, one of my old favorites, but i think theb est of all time for me would have to be Fallout 2.

Splinter cell has been fun, but crysis was a bit disappointing. Then again I prefer shooters like Rainbow six used to be, before this vegas nonsense.
As for fallout, 1 and 2 are greats, fallout 3 was meh, new vegas is a bit better but still in the meh territory.

Yeah, the Rainbow Six games were good,in fact most Tom Clancy games are good, from a tactical view of course.
Do you play the Sid Meier games, like Alpha Centauri and the Civ series?
Alpha Centauri was amazing in its day,and Civ 3 was great,Civ 4 not so good due to the comic like graphics, and I dont think my system could handle Civ 5.
I am currently waiting for Elder Scrolls Skyrim, from what i've seen I may need some extra tissues at hand
OMG! what about Deus Ex?! that and XCOM were my favs! (how could I forget this legend?!)
The new Deus Ex (Human Revolution scheduled for late 2011) looks promising too.

Mass Effect 2. For me, hands down the best by quite some margin, and I've been playing PC games since Lemonade Stand.
