Default Hey Im new or old new or something...

Just wanted to drop a line and say hi to everyone. I used to play 688(i) when it first came out. I wanted to get back into a sim that would #1 run on my laptop #2 Something with some realism. So SH3 it is.

I see alot has been done with the modding community since its initial release.

How on earth do I find which game version im running?

Also on Multiplayer I get "unknown error" ???

So cant connect there.

Thanks any help appreciated. I also couldn't hit the broad side of a barn right now. I assume manual TMA is neccessary for hits?

Thank you,
John Devildog

For the game version, you should be able to right-click on the SH3.exe file, select Properties, and get info on the file. Somewhere in the box that pops up will be a version number.

Or I think it displays in one of the loading screens when you actually load the game.

The latest version is 1.4, which you will need in order to use most if not all of the current mods.

Re: multiplayer I've never tried that so can't be of any help there.

Welcome back!

Welcome aboard!

You can leave the shooting automatic if you wish to and will hit most of the times pretty nicely.

one of the features that interests me is the ability to give voice commands. I see a few different 3 rd party voice command Mods. Anyone one know wich is the best and has the highest compatibility with diff sh3 versions?

if you look at the bottom right hand side of the splash screen when you boot the game you will see the game version there.

don't worry about the MP play to much... the server is virtually dead and to quite honest the MP game mode is about as interesting and fun as having a tooth pulled ( my personal opinion anyway)

hope you get it fixed up.

Welcome aboard captain.
I will just say right now "UPGRADE YOUR VERSION TO THE GWX3 VERSION!"
The GWX team transformed the game into something far superior to the stock game

OMG you've never hit the multiplayer button once?!?!?

I find that............Amazing!

BTW I tried the mulitplayer UBI thing and I get an unknown error when logging in. And i just bought a new copy of the game, so go figure.
But from what i hear is that the multi is about as fun as gouging your eye out with a dull butter knife. :P

The inherent problem with MP is the fact that all participants must have an identical installation to the individual who is hosting the game or they will not be compatable and therefore will find themselves 'kicked out' of the game.
