I have loved far too many bands to ever be able to categorize that simply. Currently my favorite is a local Utah band, but modesty forbids me naming names. (Of course I'm biased. How could I not be?)

Mainly because my hero as a young bass player was Jack Casady, I kind of have to go with Jefferson Airplane as my all-time favorite. On the other hand, I can start naming certain bands and not stop, so it's closer than I like to think about, and between more than I can count on both hands.

I mean, dont get me wrong. I love music, The Beatles just happen to be my favorite but I love and am inspired by many others, including: Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Rolling Stones, The Who, ect.. My list continues for what seems like an eternity. The Beatles just seem to grab my attention better than the rest.

I think I learned about them in the 1970s. It was a Danish guy living next door who had their albums. Is that correct?

+1, but I must try.

In a dogpile at the top are Pink Floyd, Boston, Oingo Boingo, The Ramones, early Kate Bush... I'll stop there.

WOW, NIN is still around. I lost track of them in the years after 'The downward spiral' and used the time to build my collection of Zombie, KMFDM and Gravity Kills CD's.

I'd have to say Korn is who I like best...today, Tool was yesterday.

My favorite band right now is Local Heros. I believe the guy that started this band bought burns guitars out. The band are a clean sounding, the burns guitars and know for there clean sound. It's the second melody on the list, moon light shadow.

I like rock n blues and all kinds, but I have only just discovered this band recently and have been getting used to clean guitar sound again. If your into heavey rock with shed loads of sustain, sorry.
