As for what you wrote, maybe you weren't around during the lead up to SH5 where a whole lot of stuff was discussed. I gave cogent arguments as to what I was looking for and expressed fears of what we were likely to get.
I was, and i read a crapload of comments about SH 5 and its inception. That's why i replied originally.

There are many examples of modern games which combine good quality graphics with good gameplay:

1. DCS A10c
2. ArmA2 : Operation Arrowhead
3. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat
4. Company of Heroes
5. GTA IV
6. Left4Dead
7. Battlefield Bad Company 2

Not to mention many older games great before their time like Half Life, System Shock, Deus Ex, Falcon4, Homeworld2.

PC gamers want the best of both worlds, Silent Hunter is no exception and the way I see it is SH5 has the best future. There are good and bad points about SH5 in terms of graphics and playability but as the weeks go by little by little SH5 is evolving.

Personally I do not play SH5 atm because I am not happy with it yet so I can relate to the OP, but I do honestly believe the day is coming soon (probably with the next release of MO) that this will change. The mod ingredients are there and the coming together will be a new milestone in SH5.

ok gentlemen, steeltrap expressed his opinion an then you expressed where he might be overlooking some improvements made to the game, so lets move on now shall we? not everyone has the same level of accepting changes to things and what one person finds ok the next finds it not ok.

Default Mostly enjoying the game...

I just got the game a few days ago, and while a number of things are really frustrating (the NEED to install mods to make the game playable, some poor UI choices by the devs, unfixed bugs that exist in previous versions of the game), I'm... trying to enjoy it? I haven't played a sub sim since 688, and Hunt for the Red October when they were new (if that tells you anything... I *think* I also played SH1 and 2), so I'm not left feeling in a lurch due to preconceptions from the prior SH* games. Ubi has failed on a number of levels (notably DRM), however it's not all bad, and I think I will continue giving it a go for a while yet... hopefully some of these mods will lessen some of the other annoyances.

Thanks to all the modders for your hard work; as lead dev. on a rather large mod team, I know too well how often people complain but how little thanks you get - you guys have made this game playable for me!
