I didn't figure it would be for sale. I was just wondering if they actually bothered to give you an answer.

What would be cheaper... Buying and fixing one, or building a new one?

I'm not kidding, I once said to myself that if I ever have $2,000,000 I'll buy the Requin (or another Gato/Balao/Tench) and have it restored to 1945 condition (before Fleet Snorkel upgrade) and get it seaworthy, then hire a crew of subsimmers to man the stations. I know how to navigate with map and compass. I'll use the PT Boat pleasure cruisers as loopholes for moving a decommissioned naval vessel under its own power, which is currently illegal.

Here's an idea i had many ears ago when I played SH2 and DC online.

Buy some old subs and DC. Invite those who want to and play BASH for real.
