Simple, Noah built the Ark, and they survived for forty days on unicorn meat.

Obvious if you know the truth.

If you aren't a scientist, yes.
Although the unicorn meat is somewhat far-fetched

I am confident that church has covered that up. I mean, it wouldn't look very
good if it read in the end of the Noah's story: "Oh and we used to have unicorns,
but see, Noah liked moonshine, A LOT. So, on one of his many hangovers, he
made kebab out of the unicorns. No one's perfect, right?"

Pfffttt. Explain the lack of unicorns then.

Sheesh, scientist are so know-it-all-ish.
Really annoying.

There was a documentary, national geographic IIRC. They said that the great flood myth was made when the mediteranean rose enough (at the end of the ice age) to flow over the Dardanels and make the Black Sea. The process was actually quite dramatic as the stream more like broke trough the straight than simply overflowed. Any people living higher up from the coast would see their lower neighbours suddenly being washed away
