You turn it in by ending patrol in your home port (the one marked with submarine symbol). As for deadline in this case - I don't know, never happened to me

Generally with campaign deadlines, one date x hits, it'll teleport you back to base (cheesy I know...) and give you your results. As for mission objectives, you prettymuch have as many patrols as it takes before the deadline. Once the deadline has passed, move on to the next.

I am on the first campaign as well. I go to the designated patrol area, destroy one boat and then the mission is complete. I have to return to base, get another assignment and do it all over again. I have destroyed a total of 250K tons when displaying all stats. Is this the way the game is done? When I send in a report it says either choose my own area to patrol or return to base. The first time I tried to start the campaign I had destroyed about 120K tons and restarted the campaign thinking it was broken. If this is the way the game is played then thats fine, I will play it but it is stupid to waste all that time returning to base when I can get 50K tons in one patrol easily.
