Thx Magic

I did an attack on a convoy in "42" in S. China Sea that was lightly escorted.

Useing rec manual set torp depth to draft +3 , mag influence 700yrds to target at 90 degrees. Perfect shot with 2 torps. No Luck. Tried again setting contact. 2 hits. One Modern Tanker history.

That's why I asked if Contact\Contact Influence was still messed up and a hardcode issue. And everyone in the know has lived with it. lol.

OK I miss understood. TMO has all the real torpedo problems of the early war modeled so in 42 things just don't work all that good. We fought for one and a half years with faulty torpedoes.

The Influence setting is so bad, just like real life, I never even try it.
Contact isn't much better, lots of duds if you use high speed and shoot too close to a 90° track.

I've gotten to the point I just turn off duds. After three years I've had all the thrill of the real life problems so I don't need them anymore.

Things get better in 43.

Congrats on the sinking.
