Celebrating the homecoming and the degree of a friend. He finished his studies and returns to his family and friends here, back from Bavaria into the civilized world

Riding the bike! Here is a project I completed and will be riding this weekend. It is a Schwinn Cruiser Supreme. Manufactured 1997. It sat getting rusty in my coworkers shed. He did not want it. I turned the derelict into a beach cruiser.

She is my after work/weekend cruiser now!

So do I. That is one reason I got them. The bike is a retro to the 50-60's bikes as seen here in the USA way back when. I plan on some wheel fenders and chrome bookrack to finish it off.

I did get a new seat that has a retro 50's look. Chrome bumper type thing. I was going for this look:

Never seen that model in the UK so I'm wondering if it was only manufactured in the USA?

Schwinn is US built. Now built in China! My frame was built in China!! Go figure.... The bikes of the 1950's and 60's had the balloon white wall tires. Book rack and fenders. A lot of chrome. Just like the cars of the time.

Or our greatest screwup depending on how you view things.

I'll jump on a local hill today. About 1300m above sea level. I'll post any good photos in the photography thread
