You could transfer your save games between Paradox's Europa engine games, so you could theoretically play a game going through Crusader Kings -> Europa Universalis II -> Victoria -> Hearts of Iron 2 (Starting at 1066 and ending in 1964). However, there appeared to be some problems with that, like events being completely disabled when you transferred a save from Vicky to HoI2.

It would probably work better with the Clausewitz engine games, though, since they are designed to be much more dynamic, so I hope they try to implement this feature once CK2 is out.
