Never had played online either, played for the first time 3 days ago, peace of cake.

Ask Arclight for the IP, then copy/paste the ip into your multiplayer window, and have your minecraft updated to the latest version, 1.6.6.

You will spawn in a safe place, and there are subways linking almost everybody.

Then you choose where to go, and start building. There are community chests with all the stuff you need to start. And if you need something else, you can always ask the people online. I can give you some iron tools!

Enjoy! =)

That would be birch iirc. But a detail. Potatoes, potatoes.

You do the same online as offline, really. Only difference is that some common sense is appreciated: don't run out with a stack of tnt to see how big a crater you can make (I guess it's alright if it's your own 'territory' and you plan to build there anyway), don't set up shop on someones lawn, things like that.

Righto, so AJ, nick to be disclosed, and Gereke, both on here and in there will be joining us.

Thanks for the info on fixing the water currents The reason there are some many pines in the tree far was that I tried planting a bunch because I need them for my house. But because they don't grow (you need about 15-20 Bone meals per sapling..) I just started planting and cutting outside in the north.

Oh and Papa, there is a bucket in the harbor masters cabin for you to use if you need it.

@ AJ, it's basically all about having fun. If you don't feel comfortable wandering out into the lands we've explored, or exploring your own, come to City 19 (it's shown on the map, but take the subway system instead of walking, its easier) and build a home there until you get on your feet. There's always room! (and if theres not we can just knock some walls down )

Cheers!

I know how to work with water. If it's not fixed I might have a go later. Easier to do than explain.

@Pices, my old place is up to the North, it's just an abandoned dirt shack and a crater. I moved because Dylan started building on top of my crater.

Even further North than that is Drewcifer's place, which is quite impressive.

We were the only people to go North, the rest is unspoiled wilderness.

Some of these links have been posted before, but I wanted to show Jeef (Phillip Thomsen) how I built what he saw in the tour today. Well the most interesting things anyway.

First, the latest knowledge on Minecraft Hydraulics (Water)

Mobspawning room/pads:

Mob-elevator (Mobavator v2.0; how to get them up to the surface from the pads):

Simple mob killer (this is lava, but mine is a drowner to avoid item destruction):

In short, this guy is a genious in Minecraft-tech. Make sure you have his Youtube channel in your favourites. On top of it he knows how to make fun with creepers (General Spazz (20 minutes in) )

Mushroom farm by hypnotizd:

part 1:

part 2:

part 3:

part 4:

part 5: (tutorial)

part 6: (improvements)

Did MC get hacked? I can't access their forums or the wiki...

On a side note, how do I craft a Compass?

Eight metal in a box with redstone in the middle.

No subw-AHEM-tube lines go north at the moment, not many people have dwellings up there that are still in use. Although I think Arclight has a new base right up north which is accessible through the Nether.

You mean that Nether I broke?

Building my own rail there though. The path is there, just need to finish the stations and lay track.

OK, just wondering, I want to go do some nomading and was gonna use Keabs abandoned place as my jumping off point but I found something I think I'll enjoy more

I will be making maps from where I really start trecking from and when I'm done and end up coming back I'll leave them in a chest so someone can take the trail as well and if they follow it to the end I'll leave/give them a goody

Yeah, noticed it too this afternoon. Sounds like they had a hardware failure. (harddisk I guess, it said something about 55% into data integrity check) The wiki seems to be on the same server. Down too.

You do realize they might loose it when they die, and can't find them in time. The idea is great, but the concept easily broken. I suggest you make backup to screenshot or something.

Ah yes...I forgot about that.

Anyway, in celebration of my working on the interior of the Houses of Parliament, here's a little bit of fun:

(By the way, did you know there is a jail half way up the Clock Tower (Big Ben)? )
