I won't.

Still have no bluray player, as it is difficult to hook it up to my 30 year old TV - but hey: at least it is wood-panelled...

I see no difference in blueray over the standard DVD. Well, one difference is the cost and that cost is not justified in my mind specifically side by side both look the same in quality.

I would agree. Plus the fact that I don't want to replace all the DVD players in my house and I can't play Blueray on my computer (where is where I watch the vast majority of my movies and all my submarine movies.

Well worth it. The picture quality alone is enough but couple that with the 5.1 HD Audio. Really tense.

There's some slightly annoying mosquito noise but that is to be expected given the films age. Also, the 'model' sections really jump out in 1080p.

FWIW, they haven't improved the subtitle translations for this release. They're still shocking in places.

So far I've avoided Blu-Ray, and I'm not that excited about Das Boot until they release the mini-series in that format. On the other hand it includes the original theatrical version, which has yet to be released on disc...

I must be one of the few on this planet who don't require best available quality to enjoy a movie.

PC up to it? Blu ray combo drives from about £40 (***8364;45) (edit - that's 45 Euros but for some reason it doesn't seem to show - is the Euro really in that much decline?).

I currently have no Das Boot (my VHS version may be stored in an inaccessible place), and I don't recall buying it on DVD (but again, if I did, it may be inaccessible. Or in one of my many moves I may have given them away . So having recently got a PS3 I intend to now make this my first Blu Ray movie
