Its still useful to have, for example, some of us may do hardly any surface development, but extensive under surface. There can also be secret bases and the like. Or we may claim more territory than is obvious on the surface.

For example I claim around my death trap the surrounding lake and some of the land.

the f3 coordinates are also useful for keeping track of where you are underground.

With the trench reaching Y level 23 soon, I'm going to be starting construction on the obsidian vault soon.

If anyone has obsidian they'd like to donate I'll start a communal chest on the surface. I'll probably need several stacks.

Hey, can I have the ip?

I used to play this game a LOT, and now I'm curious to see whats the world of subsim in Minecraft, lol! I haven't played since 1.5 tho.

So, how do I find everybody in game? I never played multiplayer before.

Need a quick walk-thru.

And my login name would probably be Philipp_Thomsen or something in that line.

Btw, the server site is offline? I cant access it.

For one, no need to walk as we got a functioning underground (thanks to Oberon) and DLR, so you can visit the main sites risk free.

PM Arclight about what IP adress and specific port-number you need. (it's not default) Then enter the IP:portnumber in the multiplayer button page of the minecraft client. Before you can go on it, he also needs to grant your account access. So he needs your complete accountname. Other wise it just denies you. Once entering the world you enter into a big courtyard in a castle. It's protection from the nasty mobs. Climb up the wall with ladders to get out, or use the subway/tube. To the south of Spawn you'll find the community store (2 steel doors behind each other in an airlock fashion, with buttons near it to open), where you can get your basic items. You have to cross a small bridge. Please replenish whenever you are able to.

My advice: don't bother too much yet with hoarding inventory. But I guess a bunch of torches and meat wouldn't hurt to keep you alive. If you get killed by mobs, or lava, you'll loose most of it most-likely. It's so vast it's easy to get lost, or not return in time before it disappears. Just look around the places people have made, before claiming your ownspot. Recognise the places.

Just type "Hi" in the chat line (press "t" while in game). If you get a response, you can bet it is not a bot. But finding where people are is a whole different ballgame.

Default The Rule on Lava

I just discussed lava with Arc and we've come to the following conclusion.

Server-Wide: As long as Lava is only damaging, or endangering your own creations, you can do with it as you please.

Now in regards for City 19, lets address how lava starts fires:

  • TNT, bookcases, leaves, wool, fences, wood logs, planks, and stairs are flammable. If flammable blocks are within about 2-3 meters of lava, they will catch fire. Non-flammable block, including glass, block this effect (but not the spreading of active fire). The ***8220;embers***8221; or ***8220;fireballs***8221; which fly out of lava are purely decorative and do not directly cause fires.
  • Lava does not ignite anything below it, just above it and to its sides (1.6.6).
So, if you were to build a glass tube with lava in the middle of it, and then build a wooden stair case around it, you would be fine. However if a fire starts because of lava, the fire can spread through glass and other non flammable objects.

Rule wise for City 19: Lava is accepted, but you can not have any flammable substance directly in a 5 block radius of any lava source. If you have a non-flammable block between the lava and the flammable item, you need to have a 2 block wide gap between the lava and the non-flammable block. Also, you can't have any lava in the open, it must be in a contained room. Any room that contains lava needs to have a chest with a bucket of water clearly marked with a sign.

Any lava that breaks the above rules can be put out by any OP even if it's in locked or off-limit areas.

As for punishment, if something burns down because of your use of Lava, you are responsible for it. Your responsibility is to replace any destroyed blocks, and to help with any repairs. Failure to do so will result in a temp ban. Also, any purposefully negligent use of Lava will result in a temp ban.

Fire Hydrants(Sadly, Arc says I can't make them spew fire), I will be installing several fire hydrants around town. They'll be marked with signs, and red wool, and will have a chest full with buckets of water, if you use the buckets of water, please replace them.
