I would suggest you read the mods section of your GWX manual to find out what each mod does (starts on page 23).

You certainly do not need to enable all of them

The problem here is it looks as if you are trying to enable the Black Sea Campaign, and the Indian Ocean Campaign, and the Merged Campaign.

These 3 are not compatible with each other.

The Black Sea and Indian Ocean mods basically remove all traffic from the world except in those areas. It's done to cut down on loading times.

The Merged Campaign goes in the other direction.

From the manual
'The GWX Merged Campaign contains all elements of the GWX campaign in all ocean areas. This has the advantage of allowing players to transit between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans with all the campaign elements in place for their entire voyage; the downside is this version takes longer to load than the default GWX campaigns'

If you are new to GWX and want to sail in the Atlantic, I would suggest not enabling any of these three mods.

For further reading see page 23-43 of the GWX manual, which covers the Mods that come with GWX.

hey thanks for the info, brilliant stuff, you have made alot of things clear to me now and where to go find extra info if I need it in regard to the mods ect.

Though I have been having problems playing the multiplayer, when I go to create an account on 'play on ubi.com' it keeps telling me that there is an unkown error, any tips on getting around this.

thanks

Default docking in base > Brest

Ok I have just accomplished my first mission in career mode, being that I reach CA29, then patrol CA29 for 24 hours and once done so, that I return to base being Brest, so I eventually get there and after alittle struggling with steering my sub into the dock in Brest, well I am just floating and nothing happens, as I half expected the game to suddenly end and then I go into my next mission, whatever that may be, but all my sub doe's is just float and thats it, nothing happens.

What am I not doing?

thanks

p.s. I apologise in advance if I have posted this into the wrong part of the forum and could the owners put it into the right one if I have.

Also you can take BDU's initial orders as just a starting point.

You have enough fuel and torpedoes to remain on patrol for several weeks.

After you have done your 24 hours you can freelance a bit.

In the Navigation screen you will see several pull down charts up at the top of the screen.

One of these is a map of the world with major shipping lanes/convoy routes. Feel free to do a little bit of exploring to find good hunting spots.

I tend to patrol my given grid box for 4 days, then if nothing is doing there I will move to an adjacent box for 4 days, and so on until I am down to about 20% fuel or have no torpedoes left.
Others here will just completely freelance from the word go and head straight to their favorite grid.

How you play it is entirely up to you

But I would suggest you stay out for several weeks.

hey Max, you are a breath of fresh air, in regard to the 'esc' key, well I feel like a total dunce now (hanging head in shame) but hey ho not everyone knows everything right, I did search my game manual on how to dock, but to no avail, unless I never looked hard enough and I know I could have searched this forum, but I am glad I posted in my query now.

Though I had wondered whilst I was hunting the dark waters, well in my sub there is large clumps of meat hanging in the main station & fruit to ect, I was wondering, if the lads back in the day ever got food poisening, as am sure the meat must have gone off from time to time, did they not have any real refridgeration then, or had they not invented them yet?

But where you have mentioned up there about the pull down charts with the major shipping lanes/convoy routes ect, well when I was on my first mission (CA29) I never once saw any enemy ships, not a dicky bird and I wondered if may be my game had gotten a bug or something, but I reassured myself on that anyway, as on the single missions mode, well there is plenty. But yeh, thanks for the tip about the major shipping lanes/convoy routes, nice tip.

I don't suppose you know anything about multiplayer, as I was having problems getting online via the multiplayer option, then after managing to get online and reaching an actual games room, well someone kept telling me that I needed to ping them? I did ask what they meant by that, but I was just kicked out the room lol and I have not yet played online, I have tried searching what pinging someone means in a games room, but again to no avail, am sure it will be somewhere in this forum, but where exactly do I go to read about all the necessary information that I need to equip myself as so to know 'exactly' what to do when inside a games room, without the hassle of being called an idiot and being kicked out to lol.

But all in all thank you to the high heavens for your brilliant feedback

I know nothing about multiplayer, never tried it, sorry.

And the meat is probably all well smoked, salted or cured.

It's how we preserved it before refrigeration was invented
But I've read in books that a few weeks into a patrol the food did start to grow a mouldy residue on the outside that the cook would have to cut away.

As to the lack of shipping? CA29, never been there. Isn't that over on the Eastern Seaboard of the US?

I'd be surprised if you sailed all the way there and back without seeing a single thing.
Not even an aircraft? Did you get any contact reports on the map? Either single ships or convoys?

Just to be sure, could you post a list of the mods you have enabled using JSGME.
A screenshot of JSGME would be super if you could do that.
