The only poisonous spider we have is the Whitetail which came from Australia and the black widow. Very rare to see a black widow they hang out mostly in sand dunes but the whitetail is everywhere during summer, their bites are not fatal but you can lose a limb to gangrene if you do not get it treated. We have no snakes, scorpions or any other creepy crawly, though one creature which is freaky looking but doesn't seem to scare me like a spider does is the Weta. Harmless slow creatures.

I also consider those of us living in the UK as being very lucky...we only have the common Adder snake and that rarely bites and is even less likely to prove fatal...unless you have a heart defect etc.
