I watched the 700 club this morning to see what spin they had on this story, I guess the protesters were pro's they were being paid a thousand dollars to be there and if they got killed the families would get ten thousand dollars plus they were bus there. State run media didn't want too talk about, that this morning.

Israel to complain to UN over Syria incitement of border violence

Foreign Ministry spokesman says complaint will focus on Syria's 'manipulation of its own citizens' to foment Sunday's violent border clashes, in which Syria says 23 protesters were killed.

By DPA and Haaretz

Israel said on Monday that it will complain to the United Nations over what it said was Syria's use of demonstrators to challenge Israel's sovereignty, following violent clashes Sunday along the border between Syria and Israel in the Golan Heights.

The complaint would focus on Syria's "manipulation of its own citizens to generate violent incidents at the border," Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said. UN chief Ban Ki-moon said live Israeli fire had caused casualties and UN monitors were "seeking to confirm facts".
Israeli Civil Defence Minister Matan Vilnai said "you cannot reach the Syrian-Israeli border from the Syrian side without clear instructions and approvals from the government in Damascus."

Syria said on Monday that 23 people were killed in Sunday's "Naksa Day" rally, commemorating 44 years since the 1967 Six-Day War. Israel captured Syria's Golan Heights in that conflict, as well as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Official Syrian news agency SANA quoted Health Minister Wael al-Halki as saying the death toll included a woman and a child, adding that another 350 people suffered gunshot wounds.
The IDF said that since all the casualties were on the Syrian side of the border it was unable to provide an exact count, but it expressed great skepticism about the Syrian figures. Soldiers fired "with precision" at the bottom half of the bodies of the protesters, the army said.
Channel 10 reported that an initial IDF inquiry into Sunday's events found that up to ten Syrian protesters had been killed when Molotov cocktails which the protesters had been throwing set off an anti-tank minefield.
The army accused the Syrian government of creating a deliberate provocation in an effort to divert world attention from its ongoing bloody repression of pro-democracy protests at home.
Senior officials in Jerusalem placed the responsibility for Sunday's violence on the Syrian police.
"Syria is trying to divert attention from the massacre that [Syria] is carrying out against its citizens with the provocation on the border," a senior official said. "We sent messages in recent days to both Syria and Lebanon. Lebanon prevented the protests, but Syria decided to carry out a provocation."

I am surprised at that take, I expected the 700 club to say the protesters were shot because Syria made a pact with the devil 200 years ago and the protesters were all supporters of abortion which is why god guided the bullets towards them

When talking about ME its more rational to take into account the non rational views.
The non rational people are in many cases more down to earth regarding ME that the "intellectual thinkers" who ignore irrational when ever its suits them ending with skewed (sometimes purposefully)view about irrational reality.
ME east is not compiled of intellectuals professors philosophers and university campuses after all
People who sometimes seek analogy to the way they think and live-that is in the good case scenario.

I don't know what 700 club is but the tactics of paying people and families for becoming "shahids" was widely used by radical Muslims.
The cult of martyrdom is very rooted in some places as well.
There is really nothing new or shocking about it.

700 club ministries, Pat Robinson, I watch their news, they seem to be the only one to report on the middle east, and rest of the time they are beggin for money, if the network news would do their job instead of prop-ing up Obamannation, I wouldn't be watchin the holy rollers.

Nothing wrong with watching the programmes of your choice.

So all the mainstream media outlets don't report on the middle east

Have you ever thought of simply watching Fox news? it is one of the biggest and funnily enough isn't quite as much of a joke as a network that thinks abortions influence the weather.
Or perhaps have you thought of crawling back into the bottle to regain your previous clarity of thought when it comes to strange conspiracies.

Nothing wrong at all, however if someone gives reasons for their choice and they show no reasoning at all then its open season on their "reasons".

Arson attack on Palestinian mosque in West Bank

A mosque in the West Bank has been attacked in the middle of the night.

A burning tyre was thrown into the mosque in the village of El Mughriah near Ramallah, and Hebrew graffiti was daubed on the walls.

Israeli and Palestinian officials said the attackers were Jewish settlers, retaliating for the dismantling of unauthorised Jewish settler housing nearby.

The Israeli army condemned the attack and said it was investigating.

Villagers said they awoke for morning prayers to find smoke billowing from their mosque.

The slogan "Price tag, Aley Ayin" was scrawled in Hebrew on the wall.

Aley Ayin was an unauthorised settler outpost, which the Israeli authorities cleared last week.

Netanyahu condemns West Bank mosque attack as 'criminal act'

Mosque in village near Ramallah torched and sprayed with graffiti; Defense Minister Barak echoes PM's condemnation and says IDF will take steps to catch the perpetrators.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday condemned the suspected 'price tag' attack by settlers of a mosque in Maghayer village near Ramallah, calling it a "criminal act".
An initial investigation has shown that in the early morning hours of Tuesday the settlers rolled burning tires into the mosque, which caused some rugs to catch fire. The mosque was also sprayed with graffiti.

"I hope the arsonists will be located as soon as possible and will be punished accordingly," Netanyahu said, adding "this is a criminal act that is meant to provoke."
The prime minister emphasized Israel's commitment to freedom of expression, saying "Freedom of religion is a core tenet of the State of Israel, and we will take action against anyone who attempts to go against this principle."
Defense Minister Ehud Barak echoed the prime minister's condemnations, instructing the Israel Defense Forces and other security forces to take whatever steps necessary to catch the perpetrators of the attack.
"This deplorable act is detrimental to peace," Barak said. The defense minister expressed confidence that security forces would bring the arsonists to justice.
The village in which the attack took place is located near the Alei Ayin outpost, where the Israeli security forces demolished illegal structures last week. The police is investigating whether the two events are linked.
Civil rights organizations have spoken out against the arson as well. Rabbis for Human Rights said Tuesday that this kind violence threatens everyone and may backfire. "This despicable act goes against human morality and our Jewish belief that we must not harm followers of different religion," the organization said in a statement.
The Peace Now movement responded by calling for more decisive actions against violent settlers. "The Shin Bet security service and the police must uproot the 'hill youth' phenomenon," it said.
This condemnation has not, however, been universal. Rightist activist Itamar Ben-Gvir said the arson doesn't come as a surprise. "In the last few months Jewish blood has been spilled like water in Judea and Samaria," he said. "Instead of dealing with enemies, the police tears down one outpost after another. The feelings of anger and discrimination have their consequences."
