As President Obama honored fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, three members of the Westboro Baptist Church protested the ceremony, holding signs that read ---8220;Pray for more dead soldiers---8221; and ---8220;God hates your prayers,---8221; as the controversial group has become known to do. They were met by about 70 counterprotesters, including members from a group just as contentious as the church: the Ku Klux Klan.

Dennis LaBonte, who told CNN he was a military veteran and the ---8220;imperial wizard---8221; of a KKK chapter, said the approximately 10 members of the group came in ---8220;support of the troops.---8221; LaBonte, who said he---8217;s not a ---8220;hate-monger,---8221; said he ---8220;thinks that it---8217;s an absolute shame that [the WBC] show up and disrupt people---8217;s funerals.---8221; The group was cordoned off in a separate area and reportedly ---8220;drew little attention.---8221;

That's impressive. WBC really makes friends. I won't mind KKK counter protesting as long as there is no "unfortunate fire" in WBC church. I don't want Westboro bunch to look like victims.

I've got to say, Lisa Lampanelli really came up with a good way to stick it to 'em. Maybe some other celebrities will follow suit and make like donations in WBC's name whenever they encounter them. And I hope the charities/groups receiving the donations put the WBC name up on top in big, capital (perhaps lavender) letters on their donor's lists.

The westboro bunch are supposed to be representing a religion of peace and instead are spewing hate messages.
