Default Empty on Torpedoes

Hi!

I just started playing SH4. (SH5 is a little to heavy for my pc).

I started my dynamic career missions last week and I'm already in trouble.

After dropping an agent and torpedoeïng some merchant ships in the East Chinese Sea I'm all out of torpedoe's... while I'm ordered to go do some surveillance watching in some straight!

Where do I get more torpedoes? Do I have to go all the way back to Pearl Harbor to reload?

Thx for the intel!

PS: is patch v1.5 the latest version, since I haven't installed one yet.

greetings!

Find a port closest to you with the anchor sign on it. Where you're able to rearm. If not, then sadly, you'll have to hump it all the way back to at least midway.

Also, the 1.5 is indeed the latest patch, and installs uboat missions.

Next time, be more concerned with the eels. Pick your targets, and remember

Welcome abroad MasterDiver.
During your patrols, don't be so quick to send in contact reports or the brass will just keep giving you new assignments to complete.

Also remember when you refit, move the fish into the tubes and hit the refit button again to fill up your reserve slots. There's nothing worse than going back out only to find out you have half a load of torpedoes. Learn by those that have made that mistake. (like me)

Damn right! Everytime you send a patrol report, and you have completed your last assignment, there is a chance that comsubpac will give you another goal to complete - which, if you do not, will impact badly in your mission score.

So what you do? If you have no more torps and the last assignment checks as 'complete', simply return home and hush-hush!

You might want to get the v1.5 patch or "Gold Edition" soon. They are the latest, and are neccessary to use the latest mods. You will probably have to start a new career, though. The stock game is considered to be markedly inferior.

BTW, you do not have to follow orders, you get points for completing objectives, but sinking ships is more important.

Welcome aboard!

All right!

Thx 4 all the intel.

I'm still on patrol in the Lazur Strait. My orders are "patrol Lazur Strait and engage enemy ships'.
Is their a vast amount of ship-tonnage I have to send to the bottom? I mean, just sink ships in this region untill the assignment sais 'complete'?

Another question relating to the v1.5 patch:
the stock game is almost using all the max. out of my pc capability.
Do these patches and modifications ask for more input from my pc or can I just install them without any problems..?

greetings

Completing the search missions are based on time. Those times vary in the stock game. You also need to stay within a 50 mile radius (I think that's right for stock) until it says your mission is complete. From there you can radio in and get another mission or you can wander off on your own.
As far as the Uboat missions go, since it contains all the previous patches it probably helps your performance if anything.

I disagree on that if your on a patrol mission,ie attack mercs enter the patrol zone if thre's nothing there go anwhere you want and hit any target of oppertunity.the only time you need to stay in the 100km radius is when you got the binoculas icon there otherwise go where you wish when you reached the patrol area.

The binoculars indicate a "Patrol Mission" so Kylesplanet is correct that you have to stay within a certain radius of the icon for a specific amount of time when you get a Patrol mission. The one problem with the stock game is they do not tell you the radius or the amount of time.

So if you get a "Patrol and engage enemy shipping" in stock you have to stay in the area. In the Luzon missions it is 100 Km which is slightly more than 50 nautical miles.

If you are allowed to go anywhere you want it will be a "Sink" mission which usually will say "Deploy to Luzon and engage enemy shipping" OR just "Deploy to Luzon" then a second message when you arrive to "Engage enemy shipping" or some similar message.

@Masterdriver: If you get binoculars, you stay within 50 nm for about 48 hours or so. If you get a flag you just need to go to the flag, it will turn grey then you usually need to sink about 10,000 tons. (2 or 3 merchants usually).

The v1.5 version should be more stable than an earlier version, and you should be able to run it, but the mega-mods may be too much if your system is taxed already.

Hi,

thx 4 all the usefull intel! I'm really getting into it.
I never knew this kind of game existed.
Since I'm a diver I was looking up some things on the net and accidentily popped into it... got more interested in the submarine world and its techniques.

I also like the way how you get to learn to know all the instruments, like radars and hydrophone etc... everything at it's time... trial and error.

One more question popping up:
in the submarineschool, I was only able to select the Porpoise.
Are there going to be added more learning events, like radar and hydrophone somewhere further along the game evoluates...?

greetings

Not completing a mission doesn't hurt your score. You just need points either by completing missions or sinking ships. I seldom even go do a patrol. As Wern said you will get as many missions as you ask for, but you don't suffer punishment for not completing extra missions.
