Well...18 years it may be a bit during that time, but you've used the right frequency to quite recently, when these difficulties came up, you have some other speaker to change with...

as we have discussed previously the speaker is not the problem but the amp itself.

Maybe...but..now it is so that it can be both parts, I'm not working with this stuff, but have had equipment for a long time, and different mixing systems as little familiar, I can be ... but send an email to Jimbuna he can certainly give you a few good advice, myself, maybe I would consider changing up myself, if you have that money on new equipment, here is a link to Jimbuna
