I can't see any loose contacts or anything on the pics you posted, but it might be much further into the device, these pics are just of the speaker itself but there's much more inside the thing than just these two and a half wires and a coil
![]() "Like underwater" is a bit vague. Does something happen to the frequencies, is there any noise added etc. etc.

Are the speaker wires hooked up with the correct polarity?
There should be some +'s on one of the speaker wires. Make sure it is hooked up to the + on the speaker. ![]()

Also-
Did you try hooking the speaker up to the other channel to make sure it is in the speaker and not in the receiver? ![]()

I glanced over the title of this topic and I thought it said 'Sneaker problem'
As in which sneaker to put on first? The left or the right? (Which made me think of 'Friday'; gotta decide which seat to take) ![]() Forgive my ramblings ![]() Anyway, this 'underwater sound' kind a sounds familiar. Like there's a blanket over the speaker or something? I had this with a speaker years ago, and I can't remember what it was. THough I don't think it's loose contacts, then you'd probably just get crackling noises. I'm going with DarkFish's view on this; the problem could be inside the speaker. I'd also try hooking it up to the other channel as Sharkbit said, but I think it's inside the speaker itself, maybe the coil is damaged?

I ran Sound Systems for many Bands over the years.
If it is not a channel problem (You'll know by switching the speakers from left to right) It's a bad speaker. They heat up a bit and can cause all kinds of weirdness. If the switch still shows bad on the right side? It's internal to the system. |
