So the so what is that dickheads like that should be left in the gutter with the filth, not put in the uniform of a supposedly top regiment.
Yes he may be a dickhead. But as long as he behaves professionally when on the job, I don't see a problem with it. Facebook is not meant for anyone to see, what you write on facebook is meant for your friends and something private. Your employer has nothing to do with it IMO.

So unless there's something in his code of conduct about not saying mean things about the royal family, I think sacking him was unjustified.

I'm sure there is.

Apparently his dreams about shooting jews was when he was on the job.
Do you not see the problem of putting a ****** like that on the street with a gun?

Code of conduct?
That would be covered in the British army values and standards policy, I think it was last updated in 2008.
As it happens they are expected to be observed both on and off duty which further undermines your "on the job" line.

Precisely .....most if not all uniformed ranks (Police as well) swear an oath of allegiance to the Crown as well as signing the Official Secrets Act.

Not only does it mean you are required to adhere to it whilst in service but also for the rest of your life and IMHO this individual is displaying a type of behaviour which I if I were his commanding officer would find very questionnable to say the least.

What is it they say about careless talk, loose lips and monkeys with guns?

Here's the 'Values and Standards of the British Army'

And I'm sure, as a Foot Guard, there are more stuff you must take in consideration, both on and off duty.

Thanks Dowly, a quick look over that gives about a dozen easy things to haul him over the coals for regarding his behavior.

Is it that they can write the complete works of Shakespear if given enough time?

I'm putting it down to perceptual distortion....the judge usually conceded that point...on a good day for the 'goodies'
