You're thinking of a nuclear warhead I think.. SH4 doesn't accurately model ballistic missile trajectories because:
1: You cannot launch munitions straight up. 2: The "Ballistic Missile" if launched wouldn't land on a convoy 2-3 miles out... it'd be hitting a static target from longer ranges. If you think of a cruise missile; i.e.: it launches out of the tube, gets to the surface and then flies to the target, it is still not a ballistic missile because it does not have a "ballistic" trajectory to the target. Think of artillery (ballistic missile) because it lobs the shell high up in the air and then comes crashing down. Whilst a cruise missile is like an anti-tank gun in that it shoots a low trajectory straight shot at the target.
