The game seems to always give off funny sounds when you load a save.Like for me if I fired a torpedo and then saved later I will always get the torpedoes launch sound(though nothing really occurring) and sometimes get funny notes likes you are talking about it is nothing really just a quirk of the game engine I guess.

For me when I play and wind up finding a convoy at say 0300 and it consists of 2 escorts and one liner. If I happen to load the same save and sail the same course I will again find the same type of convoy at the same time of 0300 and even the course it follows will be the same (besides the randomness of zig-zagging) however the type of escourts may be diffrent and the type of liner may be different but it will still be the same type of convoy. This is very consistent for me I have TMO 2.1 and this has been the case for me with the previous TMOs.

One reason that I hate having to leave the game for some reason when I spot a convoy because if I load back it kind of feels like cheating.Though this could be useful to a newer player to formulate tactics.

AS andy said saving when enemy ships are near even if on your radar scope or map is very very bad and will very likely cause issues.Develop a habit of saving only one time in each in game 24 hour period even if just for back up purposes it will save you much frustration.
