There main purpose was to keep the subamrine off from the convoy and to keep it submerged and busy. Their main purpose was not actually to sink the sub. In that way you could protect the convoy from being attacked by the sub. Hunter-killer groups or task forces. There main purpose was to find and sink the sub/-s. (hunt and kill) __________________
