This bothers me as well, and I'm not even a parent.

Even so.....

"This conduct is in clear violation of TSA's explicit policy not to conduct thorough pat-downs on children under the age of 13," Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on National Security, said in a statement Wednesday.

If I were some insane jihadist who was willing to kill hundreds of innocent people, that is a huge loophole I would exploit. They've not been above strapping Semtex to children before, and in this application they could even have the option of removing a vacuum-sealed charge and non-magnetic detonator from the child's body after screening.

Not that I condone the TSA pat-downs of children, of course, or the way they do things in general, for that matter. There are better, less-intrusive ways to handle the situation.
