I tried that once, on this here very forum, and was told that PC is something very specific, and only one party did it. Of course the fact that the other party has their own version of "You must say and do things a certain way" is irrelevant and doesn't fit the true 'PC' definition, so it needs its own name. Except if you ask them it doesn't really exist, so only the other party is guilty of these things.

I had read somewhere that PC of today started in a Marxist think tank in Germany in the 20's. I cannot say how true that is, nor am I implying it is in fact true. Any body else heard of this?

I read it's been used in the distant past, but I myself never heard it before the (mid?) 1980's.
