Seems to me, the Muslim world has a hard on for killing whatever it is they don't like. I'll wager the two most commonly used words are : "Death to (and then insert whatever it is they're pissed off about here)". Well, aside from Allah Akbar. So i guess that's four of their most commonly used words.

There is enough oil in and around the US to claim or defend to say to the Arabs to take a leap. The US just has to have someone in officie to tell the enviros to eat it.

An oil exporter we can be. Think what exporting/exploiting oil can do for our deficit. Not to mention our standard of living.

The BBC's Paul Wood says the authorities in Kandahar have blamed the Taliban for the protests

Nine people have been killed in the Afghan city of Kandahar during a demonstration against the burning of a Koran in the US, officials say.

Hundreds of people took part in the protest. Gunfire was heard and cars were set on fire.

On Friday, seven UN workers were killed after a protest over the same issue in in the northern city of Mazar-i Sharif.

It was the worst attack on the UN mission in Afghanistan since the international invasion in 2001.

Further violence

A large and angry crowd surged through the streets of Kandahar, chanting "They have insulted our Koran" and "Death to America", the BBC's Paul Wood reports from Kabul.

The authorities in both Kandahar and Mazar-i Sharif blamed the Taliban for the attacks. However, the Taliban has rejected the accusation.

Quite frankly, the correct way to deal with this is to hand over the entire platoon (including commanding officer) to the Taliban. Of course, the Taliban would execute them and piss on their remains. The video of this should be shown publicly to make it clear that the US Army will throw you to the wolves for grossly immoral acts.

This would provide a nice existentialist reason for other troops not to make the same mistake, and would be a nice propaganda exercise for the locals to show that the US Army is not in the business of protecting its own.
