I prefer non-scaling for the sharpest image. Only have to live with the black borders then...

Someone else with a Samsung monitor (which I also have) mentioned just using the monitor's settings in one of the Win7 thread, but for the life of me I couldn't find anything in mine that did the trick.

Auto - The screen is displayed in accordance with the screen aspect ratio of the input signals.
Wide - A full screen is displayed regardless of the screen aspect ratio of the input signals

My Philips have Wide, 4:3, 16:9 and 1:1... took a while to figure out...

Yeah, that's what I remember, but it seemed like neither setting made any difference.
