Default Disappearing Textures

Hey all, just got back into playing SH4 again and since the install and patch to 1.4 every time a torpedo hits a ship it makes 75% of the textures disappear. I have tested this without any mods being bone stock, and with mods. I am testing this on "Submarine School - Torpedo Attack."

I will take a screenshot if necessary, but I am really puzzled as to why the damage model is triggering this.

It might help to know your system specs and what version of SHIV you were running before the 1.4 patch.

Hey there, I am going to answer to the best of my ability since I am at work now. I bought SH4 back on release day so it is just the bone stock install and then I installed the 1.4 patch. I am going to test a reinstall and then with the patch later today.

System is pretty advanced, 2.6 ghz i7, Ati HD5770 1GB, 8 GB RAM blah blah, Windows 7 64 bit. Game runs absolutley beautiful on the machine, and even got anti aliasing to work well.

Does that mean you no longer have problems with the textures? If so, I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Hi Jeff. It sounds like the same problem I had when I got my new rig with 2x ATI 5850's. Here is a thread with a similar issue: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...aring+textures

I followed the advice here, and all has been well since. In short, don't use the Multi-Sample AA. Good luck.

Ah no it was a misunderstanding, I haven't resolved the issue yet. Thanks Fish, that is exactly what is happening and the thread I was looking for! I will let y'all know how it turns out.

EDIT - Thanks guys! It was just that AAmode and turning it off didn't change a thing visually. Looks amazing again!
