Nav Maps with more info?

I've searched around on the forum and the downloads section but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Has anyone modded the in-game navigation chart to include national borders and/or territorial water boundaries? If so, where can I get such a mod?

May I ask why? Not sure of the practical use of it. But if it's just for eye candy, then .

IIRC in SH4 you can add labels and there is more variety in symbols, but SH3's map is pretty much limited to the names of the cities and general map colours for depths/heigths. Any "line" you want to "draw" in the map must actually be a whole terrain modification, but you could theoretically create a "hill" that is just one or two kms wide and 8000 metres high along the borders and see it in the map as a frontier line. No idea how weird that would look like if you sail closeby, but ... it can be done

Which file is responsible for the nav map terrain?

Wouldn't that create a mountain range, the height of the Himalayas, razor thin, and 12 miles off shore?

Dammit... I'm trying to modify the maps to show airspace and shipping routes. That will look weird...

So the nav map topography directly affects the terrain of the in-game world?

Well how were the patrol zones added for the black, Med, and Indian?

Those can't be huge mountains, flying or not?
