For me the IID was available after my very first patrol in sep-39, without any mods. Even the VIIB was available at Wilhelmshaven. But i had a successful first patrol, maybe that was the reason.
I never used the IID, with the extra fuel. As i see it there is no point in going all the way from Wilhelm to the Atlantic in a small canoe with 5 torps... |
