We have numerous US boats of all classes in various bases & forward bases including some in the Panama Canal in the mod we use, so yes, they can be placed in the campaign layers. It gets a little cluttered in some ports at high zoom levels if the Bearing dds mod is installed.
I have not come across any moving US boats yet but I'm not saying they are not there. I don't want to look in the files and spoil the fun. Happy Hunting! Art
