Perhaps the trolley lines, Fisherman's Wharf, the cable cars, Alcatraz, Filbert Street, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Japanese Tea Gardens. San Fran is teeming with attractions; one of the more scenic cities in America.

They (Disney) are experts there at what my wife called a "walletectomy," but the kids loved it. We had fun, too, actually. We'll likely go back before they get too old, too, as it is an easy trip. Having little kids changes everything... You can get an annual disneyland pass for under $200, even if daily is $76 (just checked).

![]() Lots of stuff to do that the kids won't mind. NM is great for outdoors stuff, and for artsy stuff and shopping in Santa Fe, but light most everything else.

Sounds like you have a plate full already. Just expect it to be cold at any time of day and bring layers.

The Academy of Sciences is pretty cool, and it makes a visit to Golden Gate Park more than worthwhile. Since the new building opened, the Steinhart Aquarium & Morrison Planetarium are better than ever.
http://www.calacademy.org/ Also in the park, very close by, the Japanese Tea Gardens and the De Young Museum. Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach are pleasant except for the lack of parking. To me those neighborhoods are better for walking (with hills, in N. Beach).

![]() We're stating near Fisherman's Wharf (closer to Pampanito, actually)at the suggestion of my wife's cousin who lived there for 20 years before moving back to NYC a couple years ago (she thought there was more kid stuff right out the door to do). We're not planning on even renting a car I think. I'm copying all these to my phone, too, so I have them at all times. Regarding the distance thing above, yeah, the next city from ABQ north is Denver (444 miles), West is Phoenix (329 miles), South is El Paso (a crap town compared to Denver or Phoenix, frankly it doesn't even count...) is 229 miles. East? Oklahoma City, perhaps (555 miles)? Stuff is spread out, that's for sure ![]()

Watch out for the homeless/ panhandlers. They are really aggressive and may get in your face.

When I took my son there, we didn't get a rental car and we just walked everywhere. We took BART up to the wharf, then took a trolley to where the hotel was.
Enjoy paying pelosi taxes ![]()

I remember passing a bum sleeping on the West Side (NYC) as a kid, and my little sister asked why he was sleeping there. My dad said, " That's a wino, honey." My sister of course said, "Dad!" Dad's classic answer? "That's OK, honey, he knows he's a wino."

When you go to the pampanito, ask about the subsim 2007 almanac...
They better still have the one I donated. ![]()
