I have found a lot of ambience sounds during my research for this problem that I never heard in-game... For example there should be a special ambience sound in the kittchen, right? sorry i did not observed... i will try to enable at the end the stomys sound collection mod (maybe you have an sh corupt file or i do not know - but this way maybe it is a chance to fix the problem) - this sound mod is in german and i am sure you will like a lot... i am sory i can not help you more than that
