The Goldenem version derives much of its bad ass from the way it came about, with Germany having to create a higher grade to properly honor Rudel for being the human incarceration of 'death from above'. Sadly I would bet, had he been awarded them a year earlier Goering would have found a way to award himself a set; seriously detracting from its elite status. Personally I wish they could have awarded the imperial orders, the (Prussian) Red Eagle and Pour le Merite are 2 of the most beautiful medals imo that have ever been made.
