Where is Armistead when you need him
I went search for the Jap Navy in the Indian Ocean at the end of March and beginning April, 1942. Where the hell are the of they hiding? I burned a lot
of fuel and my girlfriend left me while I was on patrol, and for what? Nada! ![]() ![]() |

Indian Ocean...I havenīt patroled that area, but I donīt know if there are some japanese ships in Indian Ocean. East China Sea, OK. Coasts of Japan, OK. Is your patrol near the coasts of Australia? Of course, historically there was japanese merchant traffic in the East Indian Ocean in those years, but I donīt know if RSRDC simulates that. RSRDC is known for his historically accurate shipping traffic. This is: the traffic is more sparse than stock SH4, TMO 2 and RFB 2. I spent various patrols in RSRDC only for one or two little merchants in my operational zones. Check the japanese bases and ports: ever there is some floating duck for practise with manual targeting. Check, also, the structure of the campaign in SH4 Mission Editor. And send a PM to Lurker, the creator of RSRDC. Now, I start a campaign in TMO21/RSRDC in April 1942. My intention is arrive to northwest Midway, and wait the Nagumoīs Carrier Force. I want to check the presence of the warships approaching Midway, before the historic battle. Best regards. Fitzcarraldo ![]() P.D.: How can I obtain the emblems of Gunfighter? Is there some link for that? Thanks!

I can get you close. It leaves Palau mid Feb. I've also attack the groups above Buru on the way to Kendari. It arrives at Kendari around Feb 21, then heads for the Indian Ocean to near xmas island. Look at your map, see the narrow strait above Timor with the Savu Sea to the left. If you sit in the narrow pass right above Timor, you can't miss them. I'm thinking they come through Feb 25th, 42, or maybe it was the 28th...just get there about Feb 20 and wait. It's course will bring it right back through headed back for Kendari early March,..around the 5th.. If you're alive and don't chase long, you can refit at Darwin using flank speed, come back and attack it again. It will spawn again at Kendari late March..25th maybe and head right back above Timor again, cept this time it goe's through the Indian Ocean and comes back to Singapore from the west, all the way down the narrow strait, leaves Singy April back to Japan. To make it simple, best times to sit above Timor. Feb 20-30th coming through, will return same path around March 5th. Same group later...March 25th-30th, doesn't return to Kendari. The invasion force for Timor also comes through there sometime in mid to late Feb..so don't confuse it for the large TF of around 5 carriers and many BBs, etc..about 30 ships plus. Also several US merchants. A clue the big TF is coming, you'll start seeing JP carrier planes clearing the way. I'm fairly sure if you attack the invasion force, if you hurry you can refit at Darwin and get back in time for the TF. Sure you've read this in the past, but here is the patrol report where I ambushed it at Timor. I think this is when it came through late March, not late Feb. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...5/m/9401009588 Last edited by Armistead; 02-20-11 at 10:19 PM. |

Example: NDE_Parker_shp.dds Copy this file and place it in the directory named for the ship that is NOT visible when zoomed in. Now, just rename the file to match the ship name (keeping the .dds extension, of course) and you are done. The ship will now be shown as a black dot when you zoom in. |

Nothing. I always have Map COntacts on so really don't need it. I thought the precedure more cumbersome than useful. Perhaps I didn't get the "hang of it", but i couldn't get the accuracy that I could get by plotting on Nav Map from radar or sonar. |

No problems with it here. I've been running it with TMO since it was released.

Your welcome. In all I found 36 ships in RSRD that I had to change to display the TMO dot. I just compared TMO's SEA directory to RSRD's.

I've never had problems using the 3D radar with TMO RSRD, you'll lose the interiors, freecam and the mouse function on sonar, but home and end turn it fine, never had a CTD with it. |

Map Contacts

Hope this helps someone. From p.47 FAQs of Trigger Maru 2.0 pdf How do i get back the ship silhouettes on the contact map? Go to the /data/sea directory in TMO. There you will find a bunch subdirectories, one for each ship in the game. Located in each one of these subdirectories is a DDS file. This file will be named whatever the ships name is _shp.dds (*_ship.dds). Disable TMO, and delete each of these files from all subdiretories. Warning, not all ships are from the stock game, so deleting these particular ships means they wont show up on the map at all. I recommend you play with the ship silhouettes as is. The idea is to cut down the amount of unrealistic information the stock navigation map gives you, and to simulate markings that a tracking party member might have put down with a grease pencil. |

I am now in March 43. I have yet to see a convoy or TF other than two convoys of fishing boats. In a mission off Iwo Jima I saw no ships except for a small freighter in port. I sank it out of frustration. Lots and lots of planes, but my new radar saw them at long distance so I was able to avoid them. I am going to the assigned areas, but RSRDC has the convoys and TF where I ain't. I understand why, but I thought I would yell, scream and stomp my feet anyway. I am now cruising the Marshall Islands, and just knocked off another freighter. Maybe a TF is over the horizon?
