I hope this actually becomes a reality. Damn, I'll newer take a plane if they fill Europe's skies with these beauties.

I Love Zeppelins. Always did. I sincerely hope to see them up in the skies again in their old sizes and glory once again. I would give my left arm to have seen the Hindenburg in the air and considered it a great shame the Cargolifter concept never really made it.

Thumbs up, Tommies, sincerely hope you get those things up and running again and maybe jump start a world wide trend! =)

I really nope you didn't watch the Hindenburg movie which was recently on RTL - what an insult to all Zeppelin fans!
They also want to sell this flic to other countries - so be aware international community!

Guilty as charged, watched it and I gotta puke so often I lost count of it.

She ship was gloriously rendered, though, so I will wait for a version cutting all the Zep scenes together without the rest.

Do you know the documentary of the diary of Lady Grace Drummond-Hay?
Ran on Arte and Phoenix a bit ago. Great material to imagine how it must have been on board.

Chances are low we'll ever see such grace again in the air as the Hindenburg resembled, but anyways, the concept alone is so incredible inspiring, I seriously hope we will see those giants back in the air some day.

Vendor, no problem, den jävla Pingvinen är här nu!

I think they do look like some sexy ships, but I am very sceptic that this enterprise will be a success.
The Germans tried it 10 years ago with the Cargolifter, a ship that should be used mainly for the transport of freight (who would have guessed by the name?) They filed for bankrupcy 2,3 years after their foundation and their construction plans were bought by the Zeppelin company.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CargoLifter
We still have Zeppelin manufacture airships, but they sold the huge amount of 4 zeppelins in the past 14 years...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeppelin_NT

The main reasons why the Cargolifter project failed, are still existent today: the ships are extremly vunurable to weather conditions, the payload is small and the speed is relative slow. The only thing that changed over the past years is a skyrocketing of energy/raw material prices, so that would be the only niche were I would see a use for them: the exploration of inaccessible areas in the search for raw materials.

I love those big-ass airships however and would love them to have a renaissance, so good luck for the next effort to bring them back!

I wonder how long it will be before Somali pirates hijack one and hold it for ransom?

Im just thinking of the next blockbuster movie theme.

SKYTANIC! Well have to have some super disaster on its maiden voyage how about frozen clouds, yea yea well call them skyburgs. Skyburg ahead captian! Has a ring to it, lets go with it. Then well have it floating across the north Atlantic and other airships will send out Skyburg warnings but the captain wont heed the warnings cause his airship is un uninflatable. Next well have the front half deflate slowly after bumping a Skyburg and the weight will tear the ship into half and the back half will then sink into the sky! And the life rafts can be.....

Yes I can make millions
