Hey all,

I'm new

Just started playing SH3 with some mods after seeing an excellent Let's Play on Youtube. Made my very first epic mistake ingame as well, such as being on patrol before the actual war (GWX mod) and not realising Poland wasn't at war with Germany untill september 1, and thus sinking a boatload (pun?) of neutrals and my pre-war reputation below zero haha.

Ah well.. there is a good autosave I can go back to

Don't worry, in most cases we've all been there and done that. Personal favorites:

ordering a crash dive in 40 meters of water
inadvertently plotting a course across several kilometers of dry land
running into very large things I should've seen coming, most notably Denmark

And the most recent debacle, killing my entire crew just moments from docking after a very successful patrol when I decided to play chicken with the gates of one of the Wilhelmshaven locks.

My best stuff up was after sinking a battleship and a massive haul of merchants, I took a scenic tour through the Scottish Highlands!
