Tho, my problems was even worse in that there was almost zero input in-game when trying to trim. I would use the trimmer (either the tapping method or hold & release) and once I let go of the stick the Kamov would go nuts.

There was some other joystick with similar problems too, think it was the Saitek ST290.

The sidewinder software does not work with windows 7 so you can't map the keys. I've been using a Saitek Cyborg EVO since then and it's OK, but not as good as my Sidewinder is/was.

Me too. This thread is pretty useful to me, as I am thinking of upgrading in the effort to bring some more utility to my FSX experience without spending a ton of cash or having to rearrange my desktop setup.

Several links for Sidewinder/Windows 7 confirms that it works:

It isn't really small, but its not as large as some of them out there.... the Logitech Extreme 3d Pro. No force feedback (cuts down on the bulkiness), 12 buttons (programmable), hotas hat and throttle. You can pick one up for under 30 bucks on Amazon.....

*On a totally off the intended point of the OP - I am really wondering where frau got my phone number.... Don't you be giving it out! And I am not cheap!*

PS - yes, I know that was wrong - on so many levels.....

Is the FF 3D Pro really any bigger than the Extreme 3D Pro? Looking at the photos of them they look the same size.

I think my MS Sidewinder is the Precision Pro - so no FF - which seems to be the bit that has compatibility issues with W7. Still got to find where I've put it - cupboard or garage!

That must be the difference. It's not that it won't work as a basic joystick, you just don't get the full use. Too bad as it's probably just a software update that never got written.
