Default TV Tuner Card

Hi guys need help.

Want to get a TV tuner card for the PC.

Has to be able to pick up Freeview (ie digital TV for those not in the UK.) But the main reason that I want to have one is that I want to be able to input a signal from a VCR so I can transfer my daughters videos to DVD.

I have seen a few that have S-video and composite input. I have also seen others that have SCART but they are way expensive.

I'd be connecting my video to the tuner card via the coax cable just as you'd do with a TV.

So any advice as to what is a good make and what features I am looking for. Hardware MPEG encoding is a plus but not necessary.

I can go up to about £70.

Cheers

Well money really is the biggest issue here. Best bang for the buck would be one of ATI's all in wonder series cards, which can double for gaming as well. However I have no idea about support for PAL format input..

*** note that link is to their best AIW card, not most economical ***

Personally I like nVidia products but have used ATI in the past with no issues.
