I never tried this SH3Gen...Is it compatible with SH3 Commander and the supermods (GWX, LSH3, WAC, NYGM...)?

Yes. Like Commander it works outside the game, basically by reading the Mission Editor. It's a pretty cool toy.

IIRC you have to start a patrol, save (away from anything) and exit patrol, alt-tab out and start SH3 Gen and then point it at the latest save. Load up latest save in SH3 and hopefully your map should now begin to show lots of nice new units for you to hunt/avoid.
