Do you really think that you can stick GCS into already heavily loaded airplane and expect a pilot to use Cband and arrive to a perfect SA required for fighter pilot? Do you really think ATO would allow that kind of ROE?

Educate your self a bit on UAS. Start from FM3-04.15 on unclassified level and then go to a vault if you have the need to know.
That is about as arrogant and dismissive a post as I've read in some time. Disagree and argue all you want, but don't tell people they don't know what they're talking about, and don't be calling them names (by the way, it's "douchebag"). Insulting people and talking down to them makes your own arguments less believable.

Please tone it down a bit.

Some interesting tidbits for all the doubters of remote controlled A/A out there...

Video of a Dogfight between a Iraqi MiG and a USAF Predator armed with Stingers. Unfortunately the Predator lost. Quite possably the first Air to Air with an unmanned combat aircraft.

The DASH drone a shipborne ASW heli-drone controlled by a station the size of a kitchen oven plus a radio and rated to carry either torpedoes or nuclear bombs... developed back in 1960... the DASH is still in service as a target drone.

The SSM-N-8 Regulus a nuclear cruise missile capable of being remote flown by ship, submarine or fighter aircraft (yes fighter aircraft) and could even land to abort its mission. Developed in 1955!

Do I need to mention the TACTOM and SLAM-ER, with their man-in-the-loop control system?

Don't forget "I'm a Pilot!"
Or "you gotta be in the guard"
"WWIII" is great just for the line about the Chinese Embassy.

And raise a glass to Robin Olds for "last of the breed."

Back on topic:
"And if you're stuck in UAVs, then my advice to you
Is to drink the $%^&in' bottle, man, there's nothing else to do!"

Already happened.

ROBOT KILL-CHOPPER GOES ROGUE above Washington DC!

Now imagine if the targeting software went haywire too.

"Oh look something that moves! Bam!"

This one too

Wait until they become self aware. In a panic, we'll try to pull the plug...

Just like the knight was made obsolete by advances in tech, it's about time the manned fighter should be.

But But if we get rid of manned fighters, how will Academy grads get laid???

You gots to think about the important stuff like this ya know.

Until we find another job where Academy grads can get laid, the senior leadership (made up of Academy grads that got laid) will never get rid of manned fighters.
