Can anyone tell me if the P.Q. convoys out of Iceland in 1942 or so to Ar'changel and Murmansk in the USSR are modeled in GWX? When I temporarily change the spawn rate using GWX3.0_SpySat to look, I'm not sure I note much activity south of Bear Island and along the convoy course toward the northern border of the USSR. But I may just be impatient.

A quick look in the Mission Editor will tell you everything.
![]() Yes, there are arctic convoys going to Murmansk and Archangelsk. Some of them come out of Britain in 1944, but at least one I found leaves Iceland in 1942.

Steve:
Thanks for the reply. I never think to look in the Mission Editor for such information...will do so in the future and not bother folks. BTW - you replied to me about the MQK Converter earlier. I note that it's a desk top bit via Alt+Tab, but you know, there is no documentation with it re: use. Is there some such residing in an obscure thread somewhere? I can't figure out the example that's given, doesn't seem to make sense. Sorry' I know it's a different thread, but just thought I'd be efficient. |

I just realized that it doesn't convert both ways. If a radio message gives you latitude and longitude you can't use the MQK to find the grid. There are a couple of online converters which will do that job, but that becomes a hassle when playing the game. Fortunately those messages are all reality-candy anyway. They are historic messages that have no bearing on the game.

Ah so. No way to convert those obscure messages using Lat/Long...have always wondered where they referenced and so the converter seemed the answer. Guess not. So we'll just ignore. Sorry to bother...but appreciate the answer. Va bene. |

Jim:
Thanks. I think they were in fact only occasional with several cancellations. Can't translate "IIRC" in the reply...sorry, some shortcut I'm sure. These convoys seem a good time to work with lousy weather and Condor coverage along with RAF harrassment, but we'll see how it plays out. |

http://www.ubootwaffe.net/quadrant.cgi But it's pointless in the long run, because as has been said those messages are for immersion only. there's nothing there.
